Carl: Going Back to My Roots in Kenya

My great grandparents settled in Kenya during the First World War where amongst other things, they farmed coffee! My parents immigrated to the USA in the early 1970’s. After a 20 year hiatus, I finally went back with my wife and daughter to visit my family for a very special holiday. In retrospect I waited far too long to go back, twenty years is a life time to wait to reconnect with one’s roots. In addition to spending time catching up with family, we also spent our holidays visiting coffee farms, mills and our suppliers. Coffee continues to keep me connected to my roots!
